The Good Hope Foundation
A public based organisation working toward alleviating poverty in the greater Western Cape
About & History
Good Hope Foundation was established in 2002, we started in a wendy house in a backyard dwelling with a hand full of people wanting to make a difference in the lives of the poor, we raised funds to buy the groceries to cook for the community.
What We Do
We recognise the need for leadership and sustainability in our communities. It’s important to build initiatives which are sustainable in empowering and uplifting people. Our main focus is the elderly and youth who are involved in drugs, gangsterism, unemployment and abuse. By assisting and providing elderly people with meals we are able to give them a sense of dignity and care. Through our youth-focused projects, we are able to restore hope through empowering young people to reposition themselves and work toward a better future.
Good Hope Foundation is a non-discrimination organisation and assists all races, cultures and denominations. We are currently managing a number of outreach programmes through Cape Town’s poorest and most vulnerable areas, going into squatter camps and other spaces to educate, edify and empower the destitute. As long as there is a need for upliftment– we are there to restore hope.
